Construction of a new facility for Alta Resources Corp. is underway in Fort Myers. Alta is a global customer service outsourcing company supporting Fortune 500 companies.

Located in Skyplex on Paul J. Doherty Parkway, the new office building will have three stories totaling 90,000sf. When completed in November 2020, it will be able to accommodate more than 1,000 employees.

The $21 million project is being made possible in part through a partnership with Lee County, Lee County Port Authority and Enterprise Florida.

The office structure is the first phase planned for the 12.1-acre site, which Alta Resources leases from the Lee County Port Authority. As the company requires more space, the site is large enough to accommodate a second building.

The Skyplex location near I-75 and Daniels Parkway serves as an ideal central location for Alta Resources employees, who commute from different areas of Southwest Florida. The new site is also close to Alta Resources’ two buildings on Gateway Boulevard.

“The building will have a nice, clean design,” said Jim Beré, Alta Resources chairman and CEO, adding that the space will be employee-friendly. Plans include a landscaped pond, walking trail and outdoor patio area for employees. Also, a sidewalk will connect the site to adjacent properties and roadways.

Marking its fifth year in Fort Myers, Alta Resources has grown from one client and 300 seasonal employees in 2013 to more than 700 full- and part-time employees, all of whom provide support for its globally recognized clients in the automotive, insurance, entertainment and sports apparel industries, such as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Reebok. In recent years, a more diversified clientele has also meant an increase of yearround positions, including jobs in sales, customer care, and member services.

“Much of our success in Fort Myers is directly related to the incredible workforce we’ve been able to hire here,” said Beré. In addition to Fort Myers, Alta Resources has a headquarters and fulfillment center in Neenah, Wisconsin, and additional locations in Brea, California and Pasig City, Philippines.
