New Sandwich Concept Arrives in Southwest Florida
Brothers Michael and Matt Downey are operating Gourmet PB&J at pop-up locations throughout Southwest Florida. The business serves hot, air-fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches made with homemade bread, jam and nut butter, along with local honey and assorted toppings.
The brothers launched Gourmet PB&J in 2023, initially operating out of a Jeep. After a hiatus, they revived the business in 2026 in Ketchikan, Alaska, serving sandwiches at festivals and recurring pop-ups before bringing the concept to Southwest Florida. Michael is currently studying entrepreneurship at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Gourmet PB&J’s regular schedule includes 7–11 p.m. Mondays at Kava Culture in Miromar Outlets and 6 p.m.–midnight Fridays at Kava Culture in downtown Fort Myers.
