Well-known banking and real estate veteran Gerald F. Murphy has joined Downing-Frye Realty, Inc., as managing broker for the Bonita Springs office.
With more than 35 years of professional experience, Murphy spent the past five years as managing broker and district manager for Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate in Bonita and Naples. Prior to that, he owned and operated his own realty firm in Monmouth County, N.J., which became one of the top 10 companies in closed sales in that region. He is also a former president of Hovnanian Realty, Inc., where his marketing and sales plans facilitated the record sellout of many of the company’s communities.
Murphy also had an extensive commercial banking career. In addition to helping establish Shrewsbury State Bank as senior vice president and treasurer, he was an organizing founder of Tinton Falls State Bank, serving as chairman and director prior to its sale to multi-billion dollar Commerce Bank Corp. Murphy also was vice chairman and director of Commerce Bank Shore.
As a frequent real estate trainer, Murphy helps agents to excel by developing their marketing, sales and language skills. He was a presenter at the RELO Broker Annual Conferences in Miami and Providence, R.I., and is in demand as a speaker nationwide.
