GCG Construction, Inc. recently completed a new store and donation center for Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida at 8915 Sage Avenue in Naples. The occasion was marked by a ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration.
The store interior features a juniors section, enhanced signage and information about Goodwill’s mission in the community. There is also a convenient drive-through drop-off area on the side of the building.
“Goodwill is excited to expand our presence in Collier County. Our new location will make it easier for guests to find great merchandise at incredible prices, helpful staff and wide aisles that are easy to shop,” said John Nadeau, Goodwill’s vice president of operations. Also, thanks to a record number of shoppers and sales, the store has generated 25 new local jobs.
The next planned Goodwill location is in Fort Myers at 4950 Challenger Boulevard, adjacent to the booming Six Mile Cypress corridor. Currently, GCG is working with a developer on a custom, 20,000sf build-to-suit facility for Goodwill.
“The site has great visibility on a prime corner location,” says Teely Byrd, GCG president. He adds that it will help facilitate Goodwill’s mission to assist people with disabilities and disadvantages by offering life-changing opportunities to achieve independence.
In Southwest Florida, Goodwill’s programs include Pathways to Opportunity and Pathways to Work, Job- Link resource centers, small business training classes, disability-accessible housing, the Goodwill L.I.F.E.
