In December, Land Solutions, Inc. and Lee BIA Builders Care surprised a local family with extensive repairs to their home, making it handicapped accessible.
In 2012, Kassandra Stafford’s sister, Kathryn, was involved in a head-on collision in North Fort Myers that killed both drivers and left Kathryn’s two-year-old son, Victor, with traumatic brain injuries. He is now a quadriplegic, confined to a wheelchair. After the accident, Kassandra and her husband adopted her nephew when he was left with no other immediate family to care for him.
Between work, school, caring for Victor and raising their two other children, the Staffords have had little time or money to address their special needs. Now, after assistance from Land Solutions and Builders Care, some of their most pressing needs have been met.
With the help of financial contributions and donations from partner suppliers and contractors, the Stafford home was given a makeover. Some of the more significant improvements and modifications included: remodeling the bathroom to allow for handicap accessibility; sloping the concrete entrance to the home, widening doors; replacing gutters; and installing a new HVAC unit, water softening system, landscaping and a backyard fence.
Randy Thibaut, CEO of Land Solutions, says his company is proud to support Builders Care and its beneficiaries. “We are so very fortunate and blessed that we are able to directly help those in need right here in our own back yard.”
