GCG Contracti n g S o l u t i o n s has won the 2018 Grand Award for Commercial Contractor of the Year. The honor was announced in November at the annual Lee Building Industry Association (BIA) Industry Awards.
In addition to the Grand Award, GCG also won the Best Commercial Design-Build Restaurant Project in the $2 Million – $4.9 Million category for Deep Lagoon Seafood and Oyster House, and Best Commercial Design- Build Medical Project up to $1.9 Million for Gulfstream Urology and Revitalize Medical Spa. Both projects are in Fort Myers.
In other GCM news, Rudley Lewis has been promoted to vice president of construction.
Lewis, who has 35 years of experience in the construction industry, joined GCM last February as a project manager. Before that, he was an executive operations manager and project executive in New York for nearly two decades.
As vice president of construction, Lewis is responsible for day-to-day construction operations, creating and managing budgets, writing contracts, helping to design construction plans, and maintaining a hands-on role in the construction management process. He also will hire project managers and supervise the project management team. Lewis graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in construction management.
