MK Architecture and Michael Sheeley, AIA have been awarded the schematic architectural design services for the first phase of the new Lofton’s Island Pleasure Key in the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers. A group of investors recently purchased the island and expect to develop it later this year.

The proposed project will include a swim-up bar, a restaurant with adjoining adult and family pools, a lazy river, an outdoor amphitheater with a bandshell, a 70-foot observation tower with waterslides and zip-line, a renourished beach with beach volleyball, and transient-, short- and long-term boat dockage.
