In June, Rib City opened a new Fort Myers location at 6830 Shoppes at Plantation Drive. This is the 13th corporate location in Florida for the national barbecue chain.
The new location encompasses 3,000sf and has a seating capacity of 120. Ashlyn Althouse has been named manager.
Company President Craig Peden says he’s excited to reestablish a Rib City presence on Daniels Parkway. “Many of our customers were disappointed when we closed the Fiddlesticks location in 2013, so we can’t wait to welcome them to our new home,” he adds. The restaurant is situated just west of Publix at Daniels Crossing and behind the nearby Walgreens.
Rib City serves lunch and dinner daily. Hours are from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Since its founding in Fort Myers in 1989, Rib City has grown to include 10 locations in Southwest Florida and 17 franchise restaurants nationwide. Besides Florida, the chain has locations in Washington, Utah, Colorado, Tennessee, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri and Virginia.
The restaurant is famous for the authentic backyard barbecue flavor of its various meats, as well as for its specialized sauces and complementary, madefrom- scratch side dishes. It also serves items such as fried okra, three-cheese fries, fried shrimp, coconut cream and Southern pecan pies, and more. Rib City’s complete menu is available online at www.ribcity.com.
