Compass Rose Marina held an “anchor setting” event for a new boat storage facility on San Carlos Island at Fort Myers Beach.
The boat storage facility will be capable of withstanding 200 mph winds and flood waters. It will be able to store 286 boats up to 50 feet in length; there also will be 29 wet slips. Construction is expected to take about a year to complete.
The next phases of the project include 30,000sf of retail, office and mini-storage space. Also proposed are 20,000sf of civic space, a ship’s store, a restaurant, 75 luxury residential condos and 15 townhomes.
