Downtown Social House Opens in Fort Myers

Downtown Social House (SoHo for short) has opened in downtown Fort Myers at the corner of Hendry and Bay streets. The establishment is the latest collaboration between Richter Hospitality Concepts and Kearns Restaurant Group in partnership with chef Jamie DeRosa.
SoHo is downtown’s first new bar since 2012 and the first ever to have a large outdoor garden with seating for up to 100 guests. In addition to craft cocktails, wines on tap and local craft beer, it serves innovative “social and shareable” food items, most of which are made with locally sourced ingredients. Kearns Restaurant Group and Richter Hospitality Concepts are also behind other notable and successful downtown ventures, including The Firestone, Los Cabos Cantina, Capone’s Coal Fired Pizza and The Lodge. Their newest restaurant, Izzy’s Fish & Oyster, also recently launched in conjunction with co–owner and chef DeRosa.
DeRosa’s background includes mentorships from culinary majors Wolfgang Puck, Norman Van Aken and Food Network’s Geoffrey Zakarian. SoHo’s unique and street-food inspired menu reflects DeRosa’s vast experience, and includes small plates that are big on unique flavors.
SoHo is at 1406 Hendry Street and opens at 4 p.m. daily. A Craft Happy Hour runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. In addition to daily specials, seasonal menu changes are designed to keep the menu fresh to new and regular patrons alike.
