GATES Construction Expands With Several New Staff Members

It’s been a busy year for GATES Construction , which recently announced the following staff additions.

• Darryl Piearcy, Superintendent. Piearcy has more than 20 years of construction experience in multi-family, hospitals, government facilities, hotels and retail centers. As superintendent, he oversees on-site quality control, safety, security, closeout and transition planning for GATES’ projects. Piearcy is based out of the company’s Sarasota office.

• Jeff Melvin, Senior Superintendent. Melvin oversees all aspects of construction on GATES’ projects. He has worked in the construction industry for more than 28 years on a wide range of project types including clubhouse/ hospitality, education, recreation, office, industrial, commercial and health care. Melvin is based out of the Palm Beach Gardens office.

• Vincent Varallo, Marketing Assistant. Based in Bonita Springs at GATES’ headquarters, Varallo assists with social media outreach, website updates, event planning, creating and updating marketing materials, and writing and distributing press releases. He recently received his B.A. in communication from Florida Gulf Coast University.

• Cora Harkins, Director of Business Development and Marketing. A University of Maryland graduate, Harkins has more than 30 years of experience in business development and marketing, working for general contractors and national manufacturers of architectural products. In her new role, she oversees the business development and marketing support staff, and will also focus on developing corporate strategies, company promotions, a company networking plan, and increasing market share.
