GCG Construction Puts the Finishing Touches on Ocean Reef Club’s Marina
SUITE TALK May 2, 2018 admin
Ft. Myers-based general contractor GCG Construction continues restoration and repair work at hurricanebattered MarineMax Ocean Reef in Key Largo.
Shortly after Hurricane Irma struck, GCG superintendent Derrick Perry and a team of carpenters arrived with tools, generators, fuel and other supplies to begin remediation of the marina. Their first order of business was to build a temporary facility for the marina’s sales, service, parts, tackle shop and ship’s store so that MarineMax could resume operations.
Since then, GCG has been working to completely update and renovate all of the marina’s flood-damaged spaces. A highlight of the repairs and improvements is the new sales counter, which is being custom-built to resemble a classic sport fishing boat with rod holders, teak trim and countertops, and lapstrake hull. Even the counter’s highgloss teak transom will be embellished with MarineMax’s stock exchange symbol, HZO.
The work is expected to wrap up soon. For more information, please visit www.gcgbuilds.com or call 239-454- 7304.
