GCM Contracting Solutions continues to prep, pour, and erect the final concrete tilt-wall panels at Gulf Star Marina, a 27,700+sf first-of-its kind drystack boat storage facility on Fort Myers Beach.
When completed later this summer, it will be the world’s first “smart marina.” By removing the traditional forklift and adding a hydraulic, diesel free, electric powered, ASAR system, Gulf Star Marina will be able to deliver a vessel from rack-to-water faster than any other lift system in the marine industry.
GCM broke ground on the new facility last September, demolishing the old metal building that had occupied the site since the late 1960s and replacing it with a structure built to withstand 200mph+ wind speeds. In addition to providing dry storage for boats up to 40 feet, the new marina will provide full concierge services for guests, including indoor valet car parking, refueling services, a ship store and other amenities.
In the coming weeks, GCM expects to complete the remaining tilt-wall panels of the structure, install the ASAR system, and prep the exterior for paint.
