GCM Contracting Solutions Awarded Medical Building Contract

In April, GCM Contracting Solutions was awarded a tilt-wall contract for a four-story concrete tilt-wall medical office building in Naples. This project, awarded by EMJ Construction, broke ground in early June and is estimated to be completed next January. GCM is partnering with DCS Design to bring their expertise in tilt-wall construction to this build.

The medical office building is for Physicians Regional Healthcare System at 6376 Pine Ridge Road in Naples. This four-story, 60,000-square-foot facility will primarily function as office space for multiple medical companies but could also double as laboratories and exam rooms.

“Even if we’re only responsible for one aspect of a build, like the tilt-walls, we know from our track record of successful bid jobs and design-build projects that we can deliver above and beyond the client’s expectations,” Rudley Lewis, GCM VP of construction, said.

GCM will provide 48 concrete panels that will create the structure of the office building. These panels measure 65 feet tall and 18 inches thick and require great precision when being transported around the job site. “These are very large panels with specific detailed openings, reveals, reinforcement, and sequencing logistics,” Lewis said.
