Global Insurance Brokerage Buys Lutgert Insurance

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. recently acquired Naplesbased Lutgert Insurance. The company’s new name is Gallagher Lutgert Insurance.

Founded in 1953, Lutgert Insurance is a retail property/ casualty broker and benefit consultant specializing in commercial and personal insurance, with a focus on construction, agriculture, hospitality, real estate development/property managers and high-net-worth individuals.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. is an international insurance brokerage and risk management services firm, based in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. With operations in 34 countries, the company also has a global network of correspondent brokers and consults serving clients in more than 150 countries.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Lutgert’s Bud Hornbeck, Steve Benza, Marc Williams and their associates will continue to operate from their offices in Naples, Ave Maria, Sarasota, Fort Myers and Marco Island. They will work under the direction of Peter Doyle, head of Gallagher’s Southeast retail property/casualty brokerage operations, and John Tournet, head of its Southeast employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations.
