GMA Architects & Planners has completed design work for Deep Lagoon Seafood Restaurant & Market in Osprey, a coastal community between Port Charlotte and Sarasota.
The new two-story, 9,964sf restaurant is a translation of the new standards established for the rapidly developing regional venture. The building’s exterior is a concrete masonry unit and stucco with a stone wainscot on the exterior columns. Standing seam metal roof panels, canvas-style canopies, a wood ceiling on the balconies and a fantastic bay view over the mangroves complete the trademark look that identifies the brand.
In keeping with the nautical theme, the interior features rough-sawn shiplap wainscoting, blue stain-polished concrete flooring, exposed tongue-and groove-ceilings, sound baffles and custom-designed bar and tabletops. Mounted game fish and other oceanthemed art and pictures, along with living aquariums, complete the beach vibe illusion.
The restaurant features freshly caught local and regional seafood in a sophisticated yet relaxed “fish house” motif. Fresh seafood is prominently displayed and is available for “choose your catch” or to purchase for those who prefer to prepare it at home.
