Heatherwood Hires New Project Leader

Heatherwood Construction Company has hired Rick Mer­cer as senior project manager to capitalize on his extensive and diverse background in construc­tion, development, planning and consulting.

Mercer’s career includes a position as president of Habi­tat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties, focusing on real estate acquisition, land development and home construction. In a role as director of operations for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, he oversaw the state’s 161 parks and trails system. He also has been president of Estero-based Havilah Development Con­sultants, Inc., president and owner of RMDCI Consulting in Naples, chief operating officer of Elias Brothers Communities in Naples and vice president of planning and land development for WCI Communities of Bonita Springs.
