Housing Authority Promotes Director of Development
The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers (HACFM) has promoted Paul Leingang to director of development for the organization.
In this role, Leingang will lead the Housing Authority’s real estate and construction teams, overseeing affordable housing projects from planning and financing through construction and completion. He will work closely with public and private partners to expand access to high-quality, affordable housing and support the organization’s long-term development strategy.
Since joining the Housing Authority two years ago as a management analyst focused on grants and real estate development, Leingang has played a key role in securing funding and advancing affordable housing projects across the region. He is currently overseeing the development of several affordable housing units through projects in various stages, including The Arwyn, Strayhorn Place, Legacy Point and CDBG-DR Rehabilitation.
Prior to his work at the Housing Authority, Leingang spent more than a decade managing grant-funded projects in the biological sciences field before transitioning into a career dedicated to addressing affordable housing policy, financing and development in Lee County.
Leingang earned his bachelor’s degree in fisheries, wildlife and conservation biology from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in marine biosciences from the University of Delaware. He is a firm believer that housing is a human right, and everyone deserves to live with dignity and have a safe place to call home.
The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers and its nonprofit development arm, the Southwest Florida Housing Foundation, serve as a catalyst for expanding access to safe, stable and sustainable housing throughout Southwest Florida. For more information, visit HACFM.org.
