Kaycan, one of the world’s leading producers of vinyl and aluminum siding and coils, has leased a 17,000sf industrial space at 3580 Work Drive in Fort Myers, relocating from nearby Hanson Street.
Kaycan has more than 1.5 million sf of manufacturing space in 10 facilities and 2.5 million sf of distribution space in 60 centers across North America. The new location will serve as a wholesale warehouse and distribution center.
William Mankin, managing director of office services for Colliers International Southwest Florida, represented Kaycan. Stan Stouder, CCIM, of CRE Consultants, represented landlord Huttig Building Products, Inc.
“Due to the increasing demand for industrial space in the 15,000sf to 30,000sf range, it’s becoming difficult for tenants to find suitable spaces this size, particularly those looking for dock-height space,” said Mankin. “This lack of supply in industrial product will likely result in higher rental rates, at least until new construction comes online.”
Besides allowing Kaycan to keep its existing client base, Mankin notes that the additional space will facilitate sales growth by allowing Kaycan to expand its inventory levels and product offerings.
