Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is expanding into Southwest Florida with a freestanding store in Fort Myers.
The multi-national doughnut chain recently signed a lease for a 3,300sf building with drive-through in Grand Central, a $35 million, mixed-use development underway at 4944 Cleveland Avenue. If all goes as planned, area doughnut lovers can expect to see the company’s iconic “Hot Now” sign appear before the end of this year.
When completed, Grand Central will include 4.5 acres of commercial property and a 13-acre, upscale multifamily complex totaling 280 units. It is expected to provide more than 450 local jobs.
LandQwest’s Brett Low, who brokered the original sale of the property last September, represented landlord Aileron Capital Management. Currently, Low is in negotiations with several other tenants to be announced soon.
