The Veranda Marks 40 Years in Business

The award-winning Veranda restaurant in downtown Fort Myers is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

Located in the heart of downtown at 2122 Second Street, the Veranda features Southern regional cuisine with a full bar, extensive wine list and first-class service in a romantic setting. In addition to its elegant indoor dining rooms and lowlit mahogany piano bar, there is patio seating in the secluded, tropicallylandscaped courtyard, which features a waterfall and Koi pond.

Local restaurateur Paul Peden has owned and operated the Veranda since its establishment. In 1978, he purchased the property’s two three-story Victorian homes and transformed them into one of the most respected finedining establishments in Southwest Florida.

The Veranda is open weekdays for lunch from 11 a.m. — 2 p.m. and serves dinner Monday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. — 10 p.m. It also offers private dining, live entertainment in the piano lounge and valet parking in the evenings.
