Wright Construction Group in Fort Myers recently completed renovations of the main kitchen and main dining room at Shell Point Retirement Community.
Located at 15101 Shell Point Blvd. in south Fort Myers, Shell Point is Florida’s largest single site continuing care retirement community (CCRC), providing independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and support services for people 60 and older.
The $3.2 million project involved a complete overhaul of the kitchen and required reinforcement of the bare structure to accommodate six new commercial range hoods, as well as an application of spray insulation to the building envelope.
The 15,000+sf renovated space features high-quality, heat-resistant epoxy flooring, wood ceilings in the dining area, a private dining room, a fully functional display kitchen, a pizza oven, new plumbing, upgraded electrical and mechanical systems, state-ofthe- art lighting and sound system; and a new covered outdoor dining area and upgraded courtyard.
Fred Edman, president of Wright Construction, says the new kitchen provides the staff more flexibility to expand the facility’s menu.
