Curran Young Construction has completed a series of projects across Southwest Florida, while expanding its team with a new hire.

The company recently broke ground on The Arwyn, a major redevelopment project in Fort Myers that will transform an aging 172-unit community into 230 modern apartment homes designed to meet the growing need for affordable housing in Southwest Florida.

The project will feature three residential buildings and a robust amenity package, including a dog park, community gardens, two covered pavilions, outdoor grilling areas and a 4,396sf clubhouse. Working in conjunction with the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers and its nonprofit development arm, the Southwest Florida Housing Foundation, Curran Young’s redevelopment of The Arwyn underscores the company’s commitment to projects that strengthen communities and deliver lasting impact.

The company also completed two major projects at South Seas on Captiva Island, marking significant milestones in the property’s next chapter of new and refreshed amenities following recovery from Hurricane Ian.

The Beach House, a $6.6 million, 6,667sf beachfront dining venue, was built with concrete masonry unit walls, concrete slabs and metal roofing; the restaurant combines structural strength with coastal sophistication. It offers a relaxed resort atmosphere with natural wood and creamy white finishes complemented by porcelain tile floors, an exposed ceiling and a spacious outdoor patio overlooking the Gulf. Four oversized bifold doors create an open-air dining experience with panoramic waterfront views.

Captiva Landing, a 2.5-acre water destination, introduces a dynamic mix of family friendly attractions, including Bottlenose Bay splash zone with six slides, the Gulfstream lazy river, The Cove relaxation pool, Flippers quick-service restaurant, a classic arcade and Camp-tiva, a nature-based kids club.

In Naples, Curran Young completed the renovation and expansion of the Grey Oaks Country Club’s Golf Pro Shop and Wellness Café. The 4,200sf project included a partial demolition and rebuild of the Golf Pro Shop to expand the sales floor, installation of a new storefront window system, a redesigned delivery ramp, structural upgrades and a full refresh of the Wellness Café and outdoor patio. The updated Wellness Café features high end casework and finishes, while the outdoor patio now includes new pavers and an improved storm drainage system.

Curran Young also completed a major enhancement program at Kensington Golf & Country Club, culminating in a ribbon cutting ceremony held on Jan. 5, to reopen upgraded facilities and new amenities for members. The project included renovation of the 38,318sf clubhouse, 4,356sf pro shop and 8,719sf maintenance building, plus construction of a new 3,981sf resort-style pool. The integrated upgrades deliver a cohesive, contemporary environment with improved functionality and member comfort.

Along with the firm’s expanding portfolio of projects, Curran Young has hired Ellie Poeder as a market development associate, expanding the firm’s strategic growth and client engagement capabilities across Southwest Florida.

A graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University’s Lutgert College of Business, Poeder began her career in new home sales before transitioning into market development, where she has built a reputation for strong client relationships, thoughtful market analysis and an ability to identify strategic pursuits.
