B&I Contractors, Inc., is supporting Lee Health’s major health care expansion on a 53-acre site at the intersection of Colonial and Jones-Walker Boulevards in Fort Myers. The new campus is designed to meet the growing health care needs of Southwest Florida while allowing for future expansion.

The project includes a 534,778sf hospital with up to 236 private patient rooms, a 125,326sf medical office building, an ambulatory surgery center with 18 operating rooms, a 44-bed emergency department, rehabilitation and specialty clinics as part of the Lee Health Musculoskeletal Institute, and a 7,600sf child development center for employees.

In addition to the expansion project, B&I has promoted Thomas Dierking from project engineer to project manager for the West Central region. This advancement reflects Dierking’s demonstrated leadership, technical capability and consistent dedication to supporting B&I’s projects, teams and operational goals.
