HM Restaurant Group has promoted Robbie Leon to kitchen manager at Bonita Fish Company, Fort Myers Beach’s newest waterfront restaurant. Leon has worked in the kitchens of sister restaurants Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille and Dixie Fish Company for 15 years.

HM Restaurant Group’s newest restaurant, Bonita Fish Company opened in November and specializes in fresh Gulf seafood, casual bites and cold drinks. The restaurant seats 250 guests and offers daily live entertainment, a central bar, breathtaking sunsets views and dockside dining along Matanzas Pass.

Blending Fort Myers Beach’s rich coastal heritage with a contemporary dining experience and reimagined design, Bonita Fish Company was originally built in 1926 as a fish-packing house. The century-old site has been thoughtfully renovated to preserve its coastal character while introducing modern features and a welcoming ambiance. Its menu highlights signature dishes, such as shrimp fritters, shrimp and grits, and fried grouper sandwiches.

The company also offers Bayside Private Events, an indoor-outdoor waterfront event venue accommodating 70-150 people. A floating dock marina with 30 to 35 slips and annual leases is expected to open in early 2026.

Bonita Fish Company is located at 702 Fisherman’s Wharf on Fort Myers Beach. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., the restaurant also serves brunch Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit bonitafishco.com for more information.
